The Full Contractor Program

Six coverage lines. One agency. One conversation.

Most NJ contractors carry the wrong limits, the wrong endorsements, or both — usually because their last six policies came from six different agents. We quote the stack together, and the package coordinates the way it's supposed to.
The 15 Trades We Insure

Painters aren't roofers. We work them separately.

Every trade has its own carrier appetite, its own endorsement issues, its own loss patterns. We don't run NJ contractors through one generic pool — each trade page is built around how that trade actually places.

Don't see your trade? Hit the quote button — we write more than this list, and we'll tell you straight if you're not a fit.

What Sets Us Apart

We specialize in one thing: protecting and growing NJ contractors.

Most NJ agencies treat contractors as one more line of business. We built the whole agency around them — the markets, the specialization, and the know-how that a generalist shop down the road simply doesn't have.

Construction insurance experts

This is what we do, all day, every day. We know the trades, the class codes, the contract language, and the NJ rules cold — because contractors aren't a side business for us, they're the business.

The markets contractors need

Access to the carriers that actually want your trade — standard markets for the clean accounts, specialty markets for the harder ones. The right home for your business, not whatever a generalist can scrape together.

We wrote the book

Literally. We wrote the book on Contractors Insurance — and on AI in Construction. The expertise and specialization that most NJ agencies don't have, we put on paper. That's the depth standing behind your program.

Why Working Contractors Choose Us

Three things. All earned.

01

We know the trades.

Painters aren't roofers. Plumbers aren't electricians. Restoration isn't framing. Every trade has its own placement realities — its own carrier appetite, its own endorsement issues. We work them all separately, not as one generic contractor pool.

02

We know the markets.

Travelers, Nationwide, The Hartford, AmTrust, Allstate, Nat Gen, Cumberland Mutual, Farmers of Salem, Plymouth Rock, Preferred Mutual, Merchants Mutual, Geico, Foremost, and Next — plus E&S markets for the harder placements. We have access to where you need to be.

03

We know the state.

NJ has its own rules — HIC registration, electrical and plumbing licensing, Workers Comp officer requirements, Prompt Payment Act, contractor lien rights, the construction defect statute of repose. We work with them every day.

“A contractor doesn’t find out his policy was wrong until he has a claim. That’s the worst possible moment to learn it. My job is to make sure that moment never happens.” Jeff Friedlander · Founder, Friedlander Associates, Inc.

Frequently Asked

Quick answers to the things most contractors ask first.

How fast can I get a quote?
For most coverage lines, within a business day once we have your information. Some lines — especially Workers Comp and harder GL placements — take longer because they require carrier underwriter review. The intake form takes 5–7 minutes to fill out for the full multi-line stack.
Can you quote all my lines at once?
Yes — that's the whole point of the program. One intake, one quote, every line. GL, Workers Comp, Commercial Auto, Tools, Umbrella, Builders Risk. You don't fill out the form six times.
Do you write small contractors?
Yes. Solo painters, one-truck plumbers, two-person electrical operations — all welcome. Our markets and our program handle the full range, from one-person shops to mid-sized established operations.
What if I have a few claims on my record?
Tell us straight on the intake form. Loss history affects which carriers can quote you, but it doesn't disqualify you from the program. We have standard markets that tolerate moderate loss history and E&S markets for harder placements. We'll match you to the right one and explain the pricing impact.
I do some work in New York City — does that change anything?
A little. Incidental NY work is fine — we handle that as part of your normal policy structure. If you do meaningful work in the five boroughs, that's a different conversation, because New York Labor Law creates exposure that gets priced and underwritten differently. The intake asks about it. We'll route you accordingly — and if you're effectively a NYC contractor, we'll tell you straight and refer you to a specialist.
What's Crazy Rich Contractors?
A separate business operated by our founder, helping NJ contractors use AI to grow revenue. It's not part of the insurance agency and it's not tied to buying insurance from us. The Crazy Rich Contractors tab takes you to a video explaining what it is and a link to the separate site.
The Contractor's Insurance Handbook — by Jeff Friedlander
Written For Contractors

The questions kept repeating. So he wrote them down.

The Contractor's Insurance Handbook is the plain-English answer to the fifty questions Jeff had already answered fifty times — the contract requirements nobody explains, the exclusions nobody points out, and the gaps contractors only find at claim time.

One Intake · 5–7 Minutes

Quote your whole program in one place.

General Liability, Workers Comp, Commercial Auto, Tools, Umbrella, Builders Risk — all in one intake. Most contractors save time and money by quoting the full stack with us instead of running six separate quote events with six separate agents.
