Who We Write

Auto glass shops, residential window and shower-glass installers, commercial glaziers and storefront installers, and mirror/specialty glass operations.

The Coverage Stack You’ll Want

  • General Liability — $1M/$2M standard, structured with the additional-insured endorsements your accounts require.
  • Workers Comp — required for any NJ employee, including most officers.
  • Commercial Auto — service vehicles and employee drivers.
  • Tools & Equipment — your tools wherever they live, plus installation floater where you install customer materials.
  • Commercial Umbrella — extra limits over GL, Auto, and EL.
  • Installation floater — large panes and custom glass in transit and pre-install represent real value; the floater protects it.

Carrier Notes

Standard markets — Travelers, Nationwide, The Hartford, AmTrust, Merchants Mutual — write glass contractors comfortably. Large commercial storefront glazing with significant height work narrows the appetite a little and pushes limits higher.

NJ-Specific Considerations

  • Breakage in transit and install — large custom panes are high-value and fragile; installation floater and the right transit coverage matter.
  • Height exposure — storefront and multi-story glazing carries fall and dropped-object exposure that affects limits and carrier appetite.
  • Auto glass — generally lower-hazard, standard-market, sometimes its own class code.
  • Products-completed operations — a seal or installation failure that surfaces later is a completed-operations claim; confirm adequate limits.
Glass Installers Questions

Common questions.

Custom pane breaks in transit — covered?
With an installation floater that includes in-transit coverage, yes. High-value custom glass is exactly what the floater is for.
Storefront glazing from height — different conversation?
Modestly. Height work narrows the carrier panel a bit and we’ll size your umbrella for the severity exposure. Still standard market for most operations.
Auto glass only — simpler program?
Yes. Auto glass is lower-hazard and places cleanly. Tell us the operation mix at quote.
A window seal fails a year later — covered?
If products-completed operations is on your GL with adequate limits and continuous coverage, yes.
